Private owners will have the opportunity to sell their second hand race cars in a dedicated area sponsored by Race Cars Direct at this year’s London Motorsport Show incorporating Race Car Live, held at Brands Hatch on 22nd/23rd November. The space will be given to the owners free of charge as part of their entrance into the show.
The organisers are inviting owners of all form of racing cars to bring their vehicles – regardless of age or condition. Show organiser Philip Bunn explains: “As the 2008 season ends, the show will provide the prefect forecourt for drivers to buy second hand cars and for those just starting out in motorsport, the chance to pick up a bargain.”
As well as buying second hand racing cars, MSA license holders will be able to test drive brand new vehicles on the Brands Hatch circuit and manufacturers such as Radical Sportscars, Ginetta, Formula Palmer Audi and Mini will display their model ranges.
Any visitor holding a current MSA license (senior or junior classes) can go on the circuit in a class appropriate to their license. Those without a license can still enjoy the thrills and speed of motorsport with a ‘hot ride’ where they ride in a car with a driver for a nominal fee.

A number of manufacturers will be making announcements and revealing new products at the show as well as the launch of new championships for 2009.
Any visitor holding a current MSA license (senior or junior classes) can go on the circuit in a class appropriate to their license. Those without a license can still enjoy the thrills and speed of motorsport with a ‘hot ride’ where visitors get their adrenalin fix by getting into vehicles such as Pick Ups and Legends with a skilled driver who will race them around the track so they can see how fast these cars can really go!
The MINI Challenge is offering you the chance to take a passenger ride in one of its Club or S Class MINI’s to experience the sheer thrill of these mini racers and to find out more about MINI adventures on track in 2009.
Other racing exhibitors includes the BMW Racing Drivers Club, promoting grass roots motorsport with its amateur club racing series, and Ginetta, with its full model range including its new car launched for the 2008 season, the 300 bhp Ginetta G50. They will be joined by the Classic Touring Car Racing Club, which will also offer passenger rides, Formula Palmer Audi, Advent Motorsport and Red Dragon Racing.
There will also be an ‘arrive and drive’ kart track as well as fantastic displays of contemporary and classic racing cars, and trade stands selling everything a driver needs to start the new season. The Future of Motorsport Zone will have all you need to know about gaining qualifications, the apprenticeships and scholarships available for a career in motorsport, be it as a driver, pit crew or designer. And for those ready to race but needing an MSA license, there is a dedicated area for drivers to have a medical and physical examination and to take their test already for the coming season.

The London Motorsport Show incorporating Race Car Live! will see a vast array of motorsport series on display from Pickup Truck Racing to MINI Challenge and from Formula Ford to Radical. There’s even something for the ladies as online magazine Girl Racer will be on track with their female drivers and in the paddock promoting their latest range of motorsport clothing.
If you’ve always fancied yourself as the next Lewis Hamilton but don’t have the huge budget, one of the most cost-effective ways of motor racing available takes the form of the Legends Championship. Based upon the pre-war Ford, Chevy and Dodge, Legends offers exciting racing across an action-packed calendar. At Brands Hatch there’ll be passenger rides available alongside seasoned Legends drivers giving you the ideal opportunity to get close up to these pocket rockets.
Two new championships for 2009 are set to be launched at London Motorsport Show and Race Car Live! by Red Dragon Racing. Currently operating the successful MR2 and Nippon Challenge, the organisation will be introducing the ‘Subaru Cup’, for production specification Impreza and ‘Formula Nippon’ for single-seaters. Both series aim to offer drivers the chance to compete on track for a minimal budget.
A number of manufacturers will be making announcements and revealing new products at the show including Radical Sportscars, which will have its whole range on display. Formula Palmer Audi will have drivers and cars from its FPA Series.
Earlier this year ADR performance racecars introduced the ADR3 in four different engine and powertrain specifications to meet market demand. On display will be the TS equipped with two seats and a Honda K20 engine and the RS equipped with a Ford 3.5-litre V6 engine offering the highest level of performance particularly suited to endurance racing.
A favourite with the British fans the MINI has also proved popular since its introduction in 1959. Even in its new guise the MINI is as popular today as it was back in the 1960’s. With MINI legend John Cooper lending his support, a one-make championship broke onto the racing scene in 2000. Since then the series, renamed MINI Challenge, has grown from strength to strength with over 30 drivers competing across four classes. The MINI Challenge is offering you the chance to take a passenger ride in one of its Club or S Class MINI’s to experience the sheer thrill of these mini racers and to find out more about MINI adventures on track in 2009.
Another brand famous for its motorsport credentials is BMW. For over 50 years the German marque has been involved in motorsport across the continent whether it be on two wheels or four. Whilst Formula One still achieves the most headline news the BMW Racing Drivers Club promotes grass roots motorsport with its amateur club racing series. With a host of BMW racecars on display in the paddock the KUMHO BMW Series provides an excellent arena to experience rear-wheel drive racing.
Ginetta cars will have its full model range present including its new car launched for the 2008 season, the 300 bhp Ginetta G50 which has been one of British motorsport’s success stories with its own single-make Championship, GT4 honours in British GT and success at Britcar including conquering 24 hours at Silverstone. Visitors will be able to take the car on the tarck along with the Ginetta Junior and G20 cars.
Keeping some of our late and great saloons on track is the Classic Touring Car Racing Club. Founded in 1974 by a group of amateur racing drivers the club now promotes no more than five Championships spanning 40 years of world-class motor racing machines. At Brands Hatch you’ll be able to view some of these motor racing classics close-up and take a trip around the Indy Circuit with one of the Championship drivers.
If a racecar which you can drive on the road is of appeal then how about a Tiger sportscar? Tiger Racing manufacture a range of seven cars some of which are fully road-going including the Tiger R6 which will be at Brands Hatch to demonstrate its superb performance and handling capability. A flashback to racing days past will be on display in the form of the Tiger ERA30, named as it measures a mere 30 inches in height. With its design inspiration taken from the Lotus 23 this is a modern day version of a racing classic and is just as good on the track as the original in the hands of Jim Clark in the 1960’s.
If cars are just not your thing, then how about Pickup Truck Racing? Since launched in 1997 Pickup Truck Racing has won the hearts of many fans with its fast and furious racing. With a 2.5-litre engine embedded under a 900kg body this racing series really is all about driver ability. Sonny Howard and his team will be on hand to give you all the information you need about this exciting sport.

LONDON MOTORSPORT SHOW AMALGAMATES WITH RACE CAR LIVE!
The London Motorsport Show and Race Car Live! have amalgamated to create one of the UK’s biggest motorsport industry events, which will take place at Brands Hatch race circuit on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd November 2008.
The London Motorsport Show incorporating Race Car Live! will provide the motorsport industry with its best opportunity ever to showcase leading products and services to drivers, teams, motor clubs and enthusiasts. New and used race cars from various open and closed wheel formulas and disciplines will be available to test drive on the Indy circuit during the event.
The aim is to create a one-stop-shop for all your racing needs for the season. As well as test driving racing cars, new drivers will be able to take their ARDS test, including medical examinations by MSA recognised doctor Mark Green. Drivers can also get advice from top UK engine and chassis suppliers as well as seminars and presentations conducted by leading industry figures. There will also be a retail area for all your racing needs.
The Brands Hatch paddock area will be transformed into an exhibition site, with race car manufacturers, clubs, teams and race organisers offering potential and existing competitors the opportunity to experience the best formulas in the UK and Europe first-hand from the pit garages.
Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of circuit owners MotorSport Vision, said: “I am delighted that Brands Hatch has been chosen as the venue for this year’s London Motorsport Show. By amalgamating with Race Car Live, a unique interactive show for the whole UK motorsport industry, the event is set to attract more spectators and competitors than ever before and with Brands Hatch being just 17 miles from the centre of London and 3 miles off the M25, I am sure it will be a great success.”
MSA drivers, officials and marshals will continue to receive free tickets to the show, although there will be a registration process to go on the track.
Other features will include the Future of Motorsport, where visitors can discover educational courses, Greener Motorsport, looking at how motorsport can be more environmentally sympathetic and green issues, and Women in Motorsport, highlighting the growing number of opportunities for females to get involved in what is predominantly a male dominated sport.
Organiser Philip Bunn said: “The move to Brands Hatch was an obvious one after the success of the 2007 London Motorsport Show and its ‘live element’, it became clear that this was the way forward. To showcase motorsport properly, there is no doubt in my mind that you have to make the event a ‘live experience’ for all visitors regardless of their racing ability. What better place could there be than the superb track and facilities at Brands Hatch to experience tried and tested as well as the latest competition cars on the market.”
The organisers have not forgotten their roots either and karting will play a big part featuring its own Karting Pavilion and a dedicated kart track.

RAIN AND MUD ADD TO THE FUN AT LONDON MOTORSPORT SHOW
This year’s London Motorsport Show attracted around 10,500 visitors despite the inclement weather conditions and the Docklands Light Railway being closed for maintenance work throughout the weekend. The first London Masters Rallycross and the 'hot rides' areas still pulled in the crowds though as the rain and mud only added to the fun.
The fast and furious pace of the cars on the purpose built circuit of the London Masters spurred drivers on and there were several bumps, shunts and cars going into the wall as each tried to get the best racing line. The Swedish Rally legend Per Eklund was the eventual winner of the Division 1 ‘A’ Rallycross title and won the silver cup as well as the Ivan Mitchell Trophy, a beautiful bronze statue of a jaguar.
When accepting the trophy, Per said: "It is an honour to take part in the first London Masters and the circuit provided us with a great weekend of racing. This should only be the start and I hope to be back next year on an even bigger and better circuit to defend my title."
Other winners included Dermot Carnegie for the Division 1 ‘B’ section and Ben Power for the Supernational ‘A’. The Procar finals were won by Ashley Simpson for 1600 ‘A’, Hal Ridge for the 1600 ‘B’, and Stuart Emery for the 2000 ‘A’. Glenn Guthrie won the Revivals ‘A’ section and Lance Foster won the Revival ‘B’. In the Junior Rallycross, Russell Simpson won for group ‘A’ and Daniel O’Brian for group ‘B’ while the Minicross titles went to Ian Thorndyke for group ‘A’ and Tom Edwardes for group ‘B’.
Inside the kart track proved as popular as ever with visitors testing their track skills but it was the Girls in Motorsport feature which proved to be the biggest hit within the exhibition. Female racing drivers such as Michaela Bevan, Becky Kirvan, Anna Walewska and power boat racer Sarah Donahue spent hours talking to other ladies about how to get into racing as well as talking about the industry with the petrolheads attending.
The show attracted a few famous faces including Formula 1 driver Mark Webber and Harry Potter star Rupert Grint who plays Harry’s best friend Ron Weasley.

GIRL POWER COMES TO THE LONDON MOTORSPORT SHOW
This year’s London Motorsport Show, held on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December at ExCeL, will celebrate ‘girl power’ as it features an area dedicated to encouraging women into a career in motorsport. A number of already successful ladies who compete in various racing disciplines will be on hand to offer advice and share their experiences with those who have an interest in motorsport as well as displaying some of their racing cars.
Supported by GirlracerTM, the drivers on the stand include British Touring Car Championship driver Fiona Leggate who will be displaying her 300bhp MG ZS racer. Fiona is the highest placed female in BTCC history and holds a World record for the most races entered in 24 hours. She will be joined by Annalese Thorp and her Formula Ford, Lotus P Pitstop driver Sarah Crowder, and Anna Walewska and the mighty Viper GT she will be racing in the 2008 season.
Also on hand will be former karter and now VW racer Karen Andrews, the 2006 Silverstone Rally School Lady Quest winner Becky Kirvan and her Polo, single seater driver Nicki Welesby and Mini Challenge driver Dawn Boyd and the car that saw her get third place in the Ladies Championship. Michaela Bevan will also be bringing her Mini to the show while Cassey Watson will showcase her Ginetta.
For those with an interest in two wheels, Sam Burnam will be bringing her Honda RS 125cc motorbike while Team Feisty Racing rider Kat Sanderson will be showcasing her 250cc Aprilla. And forget the wheels, what about the water as leading offshore powerboat racer Sarah Donahue shares her experiences of a different form of motorsport. Sarah is a National and European Powerboat Champion and the longest standing female offshore racing driver. She was also a stunt driver in one of the iconic James Bond movies.
Show organiser Philip Bunn said: “For a long time motorsport was seen as a predominantly male orientated sport but now there are many ladies who are challenging the gents at their own game and putting up quite a fight. Having such great names involved in this area will hopefully encourage other women to get involved in the sport and create an even stronger female movement within the industry.”

The Richard Burns Foundation was launched in June 2006 and was set up in the name of the former World Champion, who lost his brave fight against brain cancer in November 2005 at the age of 34. The Richard Burns Foundation aims to assist in the support and care of those who are suffering from life threatening or serious illness or injuries. The RBF also incorporates the Michael Park Fund set up to help people and also support their families, who have suffered serious or life threatening injuries, particularly those suffered in motor sport, whilst also promoting and aiding research into these causes and their prevention.

BUCKMORE LAUNCHES BAMBINO KART SCHOOL AND JUNIOR CLUB FOR 6-7 YEAR OLDS AT LONDON MOTORSPORT SHOW
Buckmore Park will launch its new Bambino Kart School and Junior Club at this year’s London Motorsport Show. Opening in Spring 2008, six and seven year olds will be using a new fleet of Top Kart / 50cc 2 stroke Comers at the Bambino Kart School and Junior Club. The new initiatives will also cater for children who already own their own Bambino Karts who require structured and professional training. Buckmore will be constructing a purpose built ashphalt circuit in the existing paddock which will be dedicated to the training of young drivers under eight years old and also for leisure karting for four to seven year olds using electric karts.
Buckmore boss, Bill Sisley said: "We have been inundated this year with requests from parents asking us to train their youngsters before they are eight. The new Bambino Kart is basically a shorter version of a comer cadet kart and is fitted with a 50cc two stroke Comer engine. Our School, which is the oldest in the country, will undertake initial training on our new purpose built Paddock Circuit before moving to the larger but self contained Club Circuit. Successful students will then be able to drive in our new Bambino Junior Club.
”The safety of our pupils is paramount and we have already been operating a pilot scheme this year testing the mental capacity of six and seven year olds. I must admit I have been surprised at how advanced some of them are. The key is for the training to be controlled and we certainly wouldn't want youngsters of this age let loose on circuits before they were properly trained. What we want to offer is very much an introduction to Karting. The Bambino School will operate during school holidays in line with our existing schools for eight to sixteen year olds. The Bambino Junior Club will also take place on a regular basis during school holidays. There will be separate classes available for owner/drivers and those using our karts.
”I am very keen to work with other circuits as I believe that a professional package should be offered and am already in discussion with Rye House as they already offer some basic training for under eights. I believe that we need to create more young drivers, especially at a time when karting is losing more drivers than it is gaining. The Bambino class for six to eight year olds is already established in both the USA and Italy and I am sure that the MSA will be investigating the possibility of a similar class in the UK in the future. I think it is important to remember that children can go into Junior Motorcross at six so there is no reason why they cannot go into karts at the same age.”

TESCO 99 OCTANE TO FUEL THE COMPETITORS FOR LONDON MASTERS RALLYCROSS
Tesco 99 Octane Motorsport Refuel Zone will keep the competitor vehicles in the race as they battle it out in the inaugural 2007 London Masters Rallycross competition, held at ExCel on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December. Tesco 99 Octane, already the official fuel of the British Rally Championship and several other rally events, is a high octane performance petrol developed to meet the latest sporting regulations.
Tesco 99 Octane MSA Plus will be available for all competitiors from the Tesco 99 Octane Refuel Zone at a price of £1.79 plus vat per litre. By using the refueling zone, London Masters competitors will be able to refuel their cars in a regulated and safe manner. Competitors will be able to access the refuel area between races throughout the event.

GKSA SUPPORTS THE LONDON MASTERS RALLYCROSS COMPETITION
Following the success of its involvement with the Rallycross Open Championship events at Lydden Hill, GKSA has decided to extend its involvement with the sport to include the London Masters Rallycross Competition, held at ExCeL on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December 2007.
Established in 1974, GKSA undertake full mechanical, electrical, Public Health and energy surveys for all types of buildings. Based in Kent and Bristol, they provide their design service on-time and on-budget to a variety of different clients, whether new build or refurbishment projects. They are experts at sustainable designs and environmentally friendly design solutions.

LONDON MOTORSPORT SHOW OFFERS CAREERS ADVICE WITH A FUTURE OF MOTORSPORT ZONE
This year’s London Motorsport Show is hoping to discover the next Lewis Hamilton, Jason Plato or even Ron Dennis when it opens its doors on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December at ExCeL London. The Future of Motorsport Zone will have leading organisations on hand to give careers advice to wannabe drivers, car designers and race team organisers.
Supported by Learning Grid and the Motorsport Academy as well as F1 in Schools, Formula Student, UK Youth and Formula Schools, this zone will identify where people of all ages wanting a career in motorsport should start in terms of information, training courses, and work experience.
The zone also involves Energy Efficient Motorsport (EEMS), Green Power and Oxin Design Challenge who will question and aim to educate people and companies already in the industry on how motorsport can become more environmentally sympathetic and create a better solution rather than be a part of the problem when it comes to the industry’s carbon footprint. Demonstrations, displays and seminars will highlight the opportunities available to individuals, teams and companies.
The organisations present will also use the London Motorsport Show as a platform to show children, schools and colleges how they can include motorsport within the national curriculum but also the benefit of the core subjects to a career in motorsport. It also showcases how businesses can work with schools to create the next generation of drivers and designers and mould the future growth of the industry.
With displays of all the major classes of karting, courtesy of the Association of British Kart Clubs, newcomers will be able to determine the right chassis and equipment they need. There will also be a number of workshops catering for both newcomers and seasoned racers. These workshops will cover everything from basic mechanics right through to self promotion, aiming to take some of the mystery out of the sport!
Other features include an ‘arrive and drive’ kart track, including an endurance race designed to test drivers regardless of their experience, and a ‘hot rides’ area where visitors get their adrenalin fix by getting into vehicles such as caterhams and legends with a skilled driver who will race them around the track so they can see how fast these cars can really go! There is also an historic race car zone, fantastic displays of contemporary and classic racing cars, and trade stands selling everything a driver needs to start the new season.
A new area for this year is the ‘Girls in Motorsport’ feature, created to encourage women to take an active role in what is predominantly a male environment. Successful female drivers from rallying, formula one and even power boat racing will all be at the show for ladies to talk to and to share their experiences.
The show will also host the London Masters Rallycross Competition, an arena based circuit that will see around 100 Rallycross competitors battle it out over the two days. Reigning division champions will test their driving skills to limit on a purpose built course that has been created specifically for the competition. Reaching speed of 80mph and aiming for a lap time of around 35 seconds, visitors will be on the edge of their seats watching the exhilarating live action. The organisers of Race Retro, the International Historic Motorsport Show, are bringing their knowledge of the motorsport vehicles of yesteryear to create a Historic Motorsport Zone at this year’s London Motorsport Show, held at ExCeL London on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December.
The London Motorsport Show is owned by Starting Grid Ltd and Director Philip Bunn said: "This year’s show has trebled in size and now spans around 20,000 square metres. As part of the expansion, we wanted to create various feature elements and a Historic Motorsport Zone was a natural progression. To ensure the zone showcases established exhibitors, we approached the team at the International Historic Motorsport Services who organise the very successful Race Retro at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire in March. Event Director Ian Williamson and his team will manage this Zone on our behalf."
International Historic Motorsport Services Ltd has organised Europe's leading winter historic motorsport show for cars and bikes for the past four years, attracting around 20,000 visitors and over 440 exhibitors to its Midlands based show. The management of this new zone and an alliance with the London Motorsport Show gives both companies the opportunity to reach a wider audience.

An arena based circuit has been created specifically for the competition which has already attracted over 100 entrants with the entry slot for applications about to close. CONSTRUCTION OF THE LONDON MASTERS RALLYCROSS CIRCUIT BEGINS
The first phase of construction of the rallycross circuit for the 2007 London Masters competition, held at ExCel on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December is now complete. Built in three phases, the first phase involved creating a hardcore base which will withstand any amount of punishment from the top Rallycross cars.
The surface has been screened, re-graded, leveled and rolled to the highest specification. The loose sections of the circuit, that needed to be constructed three months prior to the event to give time for the areas to settle, are now in place to ensure that the surface is perfect for high performance motorsport.

LONDON MASTERS ANNOUNCE FIRST 50 DRIVERS
The organisers of the 2007 London Masters have announced the first 50 drivers on the provisional entry list for the event. With over four months to go until the event takes place, the interest from all Rallycross competitors has been phenomenal.
2006 MSA British Rallycross champion Christopher Evans, heads the entry list with his Tony Bardy Motorsport prepared Opel Astra, together with Rallycross Open Championship front runners - Tony Bell and 'Mad Mark' Watson.
"It is always exciting to race at new venues, especially at high profile events like the London Masters. Racing in a specially constructed arena will be something new for everyone - the atmosphere will be electric." commented Christopher Evans.
Due to the high levels of interest in the event the organisers have increased the maximum entry from 12 to 16 cars in the Division 1, Super National and Procar 1600 categories following the confirmation of the plans to race under floodlights on the Saturday evening.
Division 1 driver Kevin McCann added
"My car was on display in the London Motorsport Show last year and the event was a major success. With the addition of the London Masters this year, you can expect a feast of Motorsport action."
The format of the event will see points allocated for the finishing positions in the heats. Each category will consist of four heats and finals over the two days, with four cars taking part in each heat (starting four abreast).
"I am delighted to have received an invitation to this event. It has been a successful first year in the Division 1 category for the team and we are still in with a chance of winning the Rallycross Open Championship with two rounds remaining. Claiming the London Masters title at the ExCel, would be the perfect way for me to end the year." said Derrick Jobb - winner of the third round of the Rallycross Open Championship

RALLYCROSS TO ‘EXCEL’ AT LONDON MOTORSPORT SHOW
London is to host a new motorsport competition for Rallycross cars right in the heart of the Docklands. The 2007 London Masters, organised by The London Motorsport Show in conjunction with Rallycross organisers PSM Motorsport Ltd, will be a special arena based event held on 8th and 9th December at ExCeL, situated on the Royal Victoria Dock. The competition will be just one of the exciting features of the 2007 London Motorsport Show.
Peter Stott, Director of PSM Motorsport Ltd, explains: “Following last year’s successful London Motorsport Show, we were approached by the organisers to host a Rallycross spectacular at the venue. This is going to be a showcase motorsport event for Rallycross cars and we will create an arena based circuit purely for this event. The event will be similar to the stadium masters event for Rallycross that was held in Nantes a couple of years ago, but on a larger layout. It will also have the same class structure as used in the Rallycross Open and Minicross Drivers Association Championships. The total number of cars will be restricted, so drivers will need to enter well in advance to be able to compete. Further information regarding the circuit (which will be made up of a combination of loose and tarmac sections), event format and regulations will be disclosed in the forthcoming weeks."
The London Motorsport Show was keen to add competitive motor racing into the show. Organiser Philip Bunn added: “I am really excited about the new dimension that the 2007 London Masters will bring to the London Motorsport Show as it is aimed at those teams and individuals who already compete in motorsport as well as those who have an interest at grass roots level and want to know how they start racing competitively. These people do not want to sit on the sidelines but want to get in the cars and race so it was important that we offered them the chance to compete in such an extraordinary location.”

Karting brings new element to motorsport
Historic
Karting has been steadily growing over the past few years and is now accepted
as branch of karting within its own right. It was started in 2000, when a few
old karts from the 1960’s were displayed at the fortieth celebrations of
Shenington Kart Club. From this point, more karts started to appear causing the
karting fraternity to realise that karting had a history that was perhaps lost
as unlike motor cars and bikes there were no early karts or historic events. Karting
was all about the latest models and chassis and anything six moths old was generally
scrapped and put in the skip. The design of Karts between 1956 and 2006 has changed
